About the Project
In March 2024, the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) launched the Nursing Leadership Initiative (NLI) across seven African countries, including Nigeria. This ambitious initiative aims to elevate nursing practice in PEPFAR-supported countries, empowering nurses with the leadership and technical skills needed to sustain the remarkable progress made in the fight against HIV/AIDS. The NLI also addresses the challenges posed by emerging public health threats, ensuring the resilience of HIV service delivery and contributing to the global goal of ending HIV/AIDS as a public health threat by 2030.
As Nigeria’s implementing partner, CCCRN is at the forefront of this transformative effort, providing intensive training and mentorship to nursing professionals nationwide. The program is structured around three critical pillars: Leadership and Management, Communication and Advocacy, and Research in Nursing. By equipping nurses with these vital competencies, CCCRN is building a resilient and skilled nursing workforce capable of navigating complex healthcare challenges and driving sustainable public health outcomes.
Through this partnership, CCCRN reaffirms its unwavering commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s healthcare system, empowering its workforce, and contributing to a future free from the burden of HIV/AIDS.
